GUIDE FOR PARENTS

On Pre-School Education
Here are some pertinent questions you should ask about a pre school before deciding on one for your child (in each case we answer with reference to Madari Kindergarten).

MADARI  KINDERGARTEN
At Madari Kindergarten, we are so confident of our ability to provide your children with the best pre-school available that we encourage you to compare Madari Kindergarten with other pre-schools in Nairobi.

How would you describe the physical environment of your school?

Madari is located in a quiet, safe up-market area of Nairobi. The school was specifically built to feel like a second home to children aged 16 months to 6.5 years. It has spacious classrooms, a big grassy play area, and a sand pit.

How old is the school?

Parents have entrusted their children with us since 1980 because of our experience and documented results.

How does your school foster intellectual development?
Madari focuses on the immediate development of  the child’s language by emphasizing conversation and interaction with other children and staff. Reading, writing and mathematic classes are complemented with countless books for the children’s use. These books are also available to Madari students for at home development. Each class has an Assistant ; Playgroup has three assistants so that children have individual assistannce where needed. Student teachers are also allowed to train and help in classes.

How does your school promote social and physical development?
Monday – Thursday: 20 minutes music assembly for all children.
Fridays: 45 min all school sports program.
Weekly: swimming, recorder, computer, art, tae-kwon-do, mini-tennis and Swahili lessons.
Monthly: Horse riding and various outings.
Daily playtime is also enhanced by plentiful games, toys, and a large sand area. All activities are parent - approved.

What experience have your teachers and staff had with children?

Our average employee has over 10 years early childhood teaching experience. The Headmistress has been a teacher / administrator for 28 years.

Do you provide transportation?
Madari has a school owned van to transport children according to parents’ needs. This van is exclusively for Madari children. A female assistant rides in the bus with the children at all times and children are secured with safety belts.

What meals do you provide?

We provide hot lunches, afternoon snacks and assist in Birthday parties at school.

What yearly activities do you have?

Every term we hold our Parents’ Tea with a speaker on early childhood development/education. We have an Annual Sports Day, Christmas Concert, Fancy Dress Day, and Charity Fair to raise money for the under-privileged. We also publish an ANNUAL YEARBOOK with pictures of all the children staff, testimonials and pictures from throughout the year.

Madari is a top class pre-school located at the end of  Riverside drive in a beautiful serene residential area.
